You don't need an appointment, just stop by and ask. The friendly staff can sometimes easily pin point what the problem is and have the necessary part on hand to get your car repaired! This test can cost up to $100 at some repair shops.
My poor sister was so fed up with her car she put a for sale sign on it. She stopped by Auto Zone, got a test done and only needed a $15 part to stop her car from completely dying in the middle of the road constantly! While it may not always be this easy, it's worth a shot!
